Viagra Connect is a new erectile dysfunction treatment which does not require a prescription.
For the first time in years, a drug which requires a prescription is available on the internet, although there is little evidence that it is superior to other ED pills or that its effectiveness is different from that of Viagra.
Dr Fox said: “Viagra Connect will help men with erectile dysfunction avoid having sex, which is something they may not be interested in at all.”
The move was made after the first trials for Viagra, which are being carried out at six large pharmacy chains in Britain and Ireland, found that the treatment did not work for everyone and that it did not improve sexual problems in about half of the participants.
In a further trial of 100 participants, the researchers compared the safety of Viagra Connect with that of a placebo for about two years. They found that the treatment was well tolerated, with no serious side effects.
Viagra Connect is now available on the NHS and is available to buy from drug stores as well as from pharmacies in Britain.
Dr Fox said: “We think this move could help to reduce the number of prescriptions for Viagra Connect for the people who suffer from erectile dysfunction.”
In its review of clinical trials, the review group said that although Viagra Connect is a safe and effective treatment, it is not suitable for everyone.

Erectile dysfunction is very common and is quite serious, and it’s important that people who suffer from it are told they can have sex, and their partners should tell their doctor.”

Viagra Connect is now available on the NHS and is available to buy from drug stores as well as from pharmacy in Britain.
The move comes at a time when many men in the UK are struggling with erectile dysfunction, with some claiming that they can’t get or keep an erection.
Dr Fox said: “I would not be surprised if Viagra Connect were to reduce the number of prescriptions for it. It is a treatment for both men and women with erectile dysfunction.
“Viagra Connect will help people with erectile dysfunction avoid having sex and who suffer from erectile dysfunction will be able to get and keep an erection.”
The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has recommended that drugs for conditions including erectile dysfunction carry the full potential of the drugs.
Dr Fox said: “The government is working on some changes to what drugs for conditions are allowed to carry the full potential of them.
“But there is still a lot of work to be done to make drugs for conditions like erectile dysfunction [which] are very common.
“I am all for making sure drugs for conditions like erectile dysfunction are allowed to carry the full potential of the drugs and not just the minor side effects.
“But I think the move to lower the cost of drugs like Viagra could have a big impact on people struggling with erectile dysfunction who would otherwise simply be stuck with their GP or hospital admission.
“I would be surprised if it is going to be enough to cover the NHS fee for drugs like Viagra Connect. I would be very happy to do more to help make sure drugs for erectile dysfunction are allowed to carry the full potential of the drugs in their portfolio.

Dr Fox also noted that many men in the UK also suffer from conditions which can affect sexual function, such as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and that some medicines which can be dangerous for women or children are available without a prescription.

Isosorbide dinitrate
The use of this drug is contraindicated because the combination of this drug either increases the effects of the other by vasodilation which leads to fatal hypotension.
Nitroprusside sodium
The use of this drug is contraindicated because the combination of this drug either increases the effects of the others by pharmacodynamic synergism.
Enzalutamide
Use alternative drugs because the use of enzalutamide will decrease the effect of Sildenafil by affecting patient hepatic and intestinal enzyme metabolism.

Liver diseases:
The use of this drug is not recommended for patients with severe hepatic impairment because the pharmacokinetic disposition of this drug has not been assessed in patients with severe hepatic impairment.
